Waves are the universal language. Every living and non-living thing, all material and immaterial substances, have a resonant frequency: planets, the human body, buildings, light, sound, etc. Works such as Harmonic Resonance show the transition between immateriality and materiality. The forms were taken from Chladni figures and Faraday waves – geometric patterns made by sound frequencies in a fluid material – and digitally 3D modelled. They were then painted as 2D images again, taking these forms through multiple dimensions.

The undulating form of the wave itself shows the infinite pattern of expansion and contraction, growth and decline that manifests in everything that is time-bound: the formation of the universe, the breath, the tides, the movement of planets, plants, the growth and decay of every organic thing from carbon atoms to humans and stars.

Eternal Return brings together a handful of works that show different manifestations of waves. Sand dunes on the southern highlands of Mars, a cast bronze meditation bell in the shape of a wormhole, Chladni frequencies, a neon sound wave, a CNC-machined Buddhist wooden fish drum on a fishing net woven using a 18th century French instruction manual. Ancient materials and contemporary processes collide, displacing the objects outside of linear time and space.
